4:24 am we are flying over Limerick. 45 minutes to Amsterdam. It's been a long flight. Hard for someone with long legs. I look forward to a stretch. Three hours in Amsterdam and then we board our flight to Helsinki.
First stop is to find an electric outlet. The irony isn't lost on me that we are one a mission about climate change and I'm preoccupied with juicing up my equipment. Somehow my camera lbattery is dead. I think Winter Carnival may have killed it and I neglected to recharge it before leaving.
Once we arrive in Helsinki (at 1pm) we are being whisked off to the "ski tube". That's the climate change adaptation the Finns have made to help their athletes and citizens practice their favorite sport (cross country skiing) in a climate controlled ski tunnel. we will be donning skis and trying it out. Mike Myylikowski will be meeting us.
Mikko will (coffee in a styrofoam cup just arrived at my seat) Mikko is the "Director of Experience" at the Heureka (pronounced hair-e-ka) science museum in Vantaa, a suburb of Helsinki.
Stay tuned ...more to come. Amsterdam...sadly, I will have an airport experience only.
